My name is Caitlyn Mahoney and I am an artist based in Melbourne, Australia. I create colourful, playful compositions with a naïve quality that invite curiosity. Much of my inspiration comes from my surroundings, as well as the beauty found in clashing colours, textures and imperfections.

My process is intuitive and ever-changing. I often begin by painting a base layer of colour onto paper, then layering hand-painted sheets that I cut or tear into collage elements. From there, I build depth with additional marks in pencil or pastel, sometimes repeating this process several times until the work feels complete. I enjoy experimenting with a mix of materials, and all work is produced on high-quality art paper.
